8th Annual “Blow the Whistle on Asthma” Walk – Broward
 
The 3-mile walk will take place on Saturday, October 4th 2008 at Huizenga Plaza in Las Olas Riverfront. Registration begins at 8:15AM and the walk starts at 9:30AM. We anticipate well over 1000 walkers to participate in this worthwhile cause. There is no cure for Asthma and over the past 20 years the death rate has increased 55%. This chronic condition affects an estimated 22 million Americans and nearly 12.8 million school days missed due to asthma complications each year. In South Florida there are approximately 95,000 children with Asthma. As a result of these alarming statistics we are holding our 8th Annual “Blow the Whistle on Asthma” Walk with proceeds benefiting local asthma programs, education, patients and research at the Asthma Clinical Research Center.
