Recycling Center Beautification

Hands On Ogeechee will coordinate teams of 10-12 who will adopt a Bulloch County Solid Waste & Recycling Center. Groups will create a garden space at one of 14 recycling centers in the county. Groups will also conduct a roadside cleanup of litter adjacent to the recycling center.

This project is coordinated in partnership with Keep Bulloch Beautiful.

On August 27, 2007 at 9:00 AM we will be performing a general clean up of the 1725 South McCarran Boulevard area. This has been known as a flood zone. We will be creating protection measures in order to alleviate potential flooding from the Truckee River. We will also be constructing a hoop house in order to extend the gardening season and alleviate hunger in our neighborhood. We hope the area will be used for community or other gardening. Books for a Brighter Future

Book donation boxes will be available throughout the area at common meeting places such as schools, businesses, churches, and other high traffic locations. Books donated will be sold online, regifted to literacy programs, or recycled to pulp. (Sorry, we cannot accept phonebooks, magazines, encyclopedias, or dictionaries). The funds raised will support Hands On Ogeechee's Youth Action Centers and general operations.
