On August 27, 2007 at 9:00 AM we will be performing a general clean up of the 1725 South McCarran Boulevard area. This has been known as a flood zone. We will be creating protection measures in order to alleviate potential flooding from the Truckee River. We will also be constructing a hoop house in order to extend the gardening season and alleviate hunger in our neighborhood. We hope the area will be used for community or other gardening. The agricultural experience can be intergenerational, taught to youth in the area, help individuals raise an income at farmer'

Due to recent floods, tornadoes and frosts, many farming families are homeless and in need.
These are hard working families. As you can imagine, it takes a lot for them to ask for our help.

The Campus Kitchen at Saint Louis University

The Cmapus Kitchen uses leftover, resuced food from on-campus dining services, local grocery stores, and the foodbank to prepare meals for low-income families, seniors, and youth throughout the local community. Volunteers are needed to help prepare meals and also to help deliver meals.
Cooking: Mondays and Wednesdays 4-6 pm, 7-9 pm; Sundays 1-3 pm
Delivering: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:30-5:30 pm; Sundays 3-5:30 pm

CharlotTEEN is an exciting program being offered by Hands On Charlotte for students in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg community. We provide a continuous variety of interesting, structured, accessible, and youth specific service projects for student participation.

Ongoing and Upcoming Projects - Get Engaged in Our Community

-The first Saturday of the month we are at Crisis Assistance Ministries sorting donated clothing.
-The second Saturday we work with the athletes in the Special Rollers Bowling League.
