Hands On Inland Empire’s Earth Day/National Youth Service Day project at South Tamarind Elementary took place on April 21, 2007.

Volunteers hoped that a Hands On Schools project would send a message to the overall community that their children matter and are worthy of just a fraction of some of the materials and spaces that other students receive in other schools.

Make a Difference’s Hands On Schools Earth Day/National Youth Service Day project took place on April 21, 2007 at Valley View School. During the project, students worked with school staff to design implement projects that will launch the schools Four R's program--Recycle, Reuse, Reduce and Repair.

For their Hands On Schools Earth Day/ National Youth Service Day, LA Works implemented school renovation projects at both Charles R. Drew Middle School on April 14, 2007, and Bethune Middle School on April 21, 2007. (Each of which schools were yearlong approaches to Hands On Schools Transformational Community Engagement projects).
