On August 27, 2007 at 9:00 AM we will be performing a general clean up of the 1725 South McCarran Boulevard area.  This has been known as a flood zone.  We will be creating protection measures in order to alleviate potential flooding from the Truckee River.  We will also be constructing a hoop house in order to extend the gardening season and alleviate hunger in our neighborhood.  We hope the area will be used for community or other gardening.  The agricultural experience can be intergenerational, taught to youth in the area, help individuals raise an income at farmer's markets, and donate the surplus to local non-profits and food pantries.

The entire population of Washoe County will be helped.  (Approximately 400,000 people).
