My name is Nilofar Ahmed.  
I am President of Save The Innocents Inc. Save The Innocents is a non profit organization registrated in the state of Colorado in USA, working against POVERTY and IGNORANCE.

My story began when I saw a documentary on HBO that detailed the horrors that little children suffer due to poverty and ignorance in under developed countries.
The footage of the program is what inspired me to take the first steps to do something about this problem and not just be a spectator.
So I started to search and I found out that POVERY AND IGNORANCE are two main reasons that our children could not go to school and for our society’s problems …..
With my heart and soul and asking Allah to help me I started a non profit organization, Save The Innocents Inc that is registered in the State of Colorado. I began spreading the word and Collecting funds. In June 2005, I flew to Asia( bearing the expenses myself) and visited Pakistan. After visiting several villages we started our first project in a rural area of Sind.
We established Save The Future Community School, provided teachers, school furniture, desks books and uniforms to all students so there was no hurdle for them to get education; and a program to provide alternative source of income to families who would in turn send their children to school.  We also started a clinic, and dug two wells and installed hand pumps for clean and safe water.
The project is successful and the children are attending school. We have 3 classes right now. We targeted education to break the cycle of Poverty and child labor because Save The Innocents believes that education is the best way to bring a change in society.
Our board and staff in USA and in Pakistan, all are volunteers. No one gets any salary. Our administrative cost is less than 6%.

We are very small organization, and trying at our level to save some of innocents futures. We are very sincere in our work PLEASE HELP US. For the upcoming year we need more space for the next grades, as well as now we need to hire a principal, 4 teachers salaries, books, supplies,desks for the students and funds to build at least 4 rooms for next ecidemic year of school, because one of the land owner is donated half acre of land for the school building.
We are looking up to Hands to help us in this project.
 
I hope that Hands does not just help famous people and large organizations but also small organizations like us, to cultivate the notion that something can be done by ordinary people like me with limited resources, and that change can occur with one child and one village at a time.
