Would you like to learn how to help kids in your community?
KaBOOM!, the national non-profit that empowers communities to build playgrounds, is offering one of our free training sessions on April 10th in Washington, DC. Known as “WE Play!,” (Workshops Entirely on Play) these fun sessions are FREE one-day trainings on play and playgrounds. Sponsored by The Home Depot Foundation, WE Play! trainings are packed with interactive workshops, networking opportunities and first-hand success stories on how to bring play back into the lives of our children. From planning a playground project to involving local governments in the cause of play, WE Play! gives all participants the tools to take action to help kids in their community lead happier healthier lives. For registration and additional information, go to kaboom.org/weplay

WE Play! attendees will learn how to: Organize a playground build in their community ; Recruit volunteers; Run effective fundraisers; Check playgrounds for safety concerns; Receive national recognition for their community’s efforts to make play a priority.

Hands-on Playground Building Opportunity! – April 11, 2008
After learning about how to make their communities more playful, those who attend WE Play! have the opportunity to take part in one of our all-volunteer built-in-a-day playground construction events. On April 11th, WE Play! graduates will see firsthand how to transform an empty lot into a dream playground in six hours! Graduates will see the whole build process in action from start to finish and will have a chance to give the gift of play to hundreds of deserving kids.

Pass it on! Bring a Friend!
KaBOOM! needs your help to get the word out about this great opportunity. Please forward this information on to everyone you know who cares about kids! Parents, PTA leaders, teachers, community leaders, business professionals, and parks and recreation personnel, all are encouraged to attend.
